The Girona Reunion

When everyone returns from a winter away

Late February into early march is like a high school reunion every day in Girona.  (well a 4 month reunion.) Granted, it’s still no summer day in Northern Spain, but catching quick coffees in the sun before rides, and many a quick dinner are standard fare.

Carlee and Kiel, two different dinners. Both clearly cold indoors.

It’s not just coffees and dinners though, it’s the start of the European racing season, so in between the short early season races, its tough training, long hours and dealing with the somewhat irregular weather. Hail, rain, and then 20 degree sun can all mix into a single day.  Sounds like London….

As the season goes on, here’s to more beach rides, less rollers, more gelato, less hot cocoa, and more friends, surrogate family, and (sorry Phil) the constant bells of Girona. (Yea those things ring every 15 minutes starting at like 4am on a Sunday.)
